Created in 2005, PicResize.com has helped many users resize and edit their photos online and for free. Is it still competitive among online image resizers in 2026? How to use it properly? You'll find answers in the following PicResize review.
Part 1. What Is PicResize & Key Features
PicResize is an all-in-one online image editor. You can do a variety of editing on the same webpage: resize, flip, crop, apply filters, convert format, and more. The best part is that all the features mentioned are free.
Key Features:
- Upload images from local folders, the clipboard, or URLs.
- Resize photos by percentage, fitting to screen, or to customized dimensions.
- Resize photos by percentage, fitting to screen, or to customized dimensions.
- Rotate and flip images with a single click.
- PicResize supports batch resizing up to 100 files at a time.
- Enlarge pictures using AI upscaling technology (Pro).
- Convert images between JPG, PNG, BMP, and GIF.
- Add special effects to the image.
Part 2. How to Use PicResize to Edit an Image
Step 1Go to picresize.com.
Step 2Upload an image using a preferred method: from local storage, via a URL, or paste from the clipboard.
Step 3Click Continue to Edit Picture to start editing.
Step 4On the editing page, you can crop, rotate, flip, resize, add an effect, and customize the output format.
Step 5When you're ready, scroll to the bottom and click the blue button that says I'm Done, Resize My Picture.
Step 6The image gets resized. You can preview it before downloading.
Part 3. PicResize Pros & Cons
Pros
Resize images to a preferred size easily.
A very diverse collection of completely free editing tools.
Maintains image quality during resizing, cropping, compression, etc.
Easy to use for beginners. All the editing features require only simple clicks.
Totally online, no installation needed.
Cons
The free version can only resize images smaller than the original.
A lot of pop-up ads on the website make it rather laggy.
The interface looks dated and slightly cluttered.
The site's navigation feels confusing: the upload button on every tool page takes you to the same editing page.
Part 4. Is PicResize Safe to Use?
Yes, we think so. The domain has been there for decades and receives a lot of traffic daily. Plus, it follows a strict privacy policy and uses secure encryption to protect your data. We have not found any reports of security issues so far.
Part 5. Is There a PicResize App?
No, there isn't. If you search the App Store and Google Play, you will find some apps named "PicResize", "PicResizer", or "PixResize". They sound close, but they are not the app version of PicResize.com.
There's one app on Google Play that looks especially similar. It has the same name and also the same interface. But the developer's name and contact can't be found on PicResize's website. It might be official, but it's more likely a third-party copy.
If you want to use PicResize on your phone, you can open it in your mobile browser. An app version is not really necessary.
Part 6. Is PicResize Pro Worth Buying?
The short answer is no.
PicResize Pro is advertised to unlock the following advanced features:
- Remove ads on the website.
- AI-powered enlargement.
- Bulk cropping.
- Add text, headers, captions, and watermarks.
- HEIC format support.
- Extra special effects.
They look fancy, but the biggest problem is that the payment page is not working in 2026. The Pro promotion page loads normally; however, when I click the Sign Up button to purchase, an error displays.
And that's not the only issue. PicResize seems to be having a very low update frequency. The last notable update was back in 2022. Taking this and the broken payment page into consideration, I think we should just drop the idea of buying Pro. Even if we manage to buy it somehow, there's a risk that the service stops completely, with no warning.
Luckily, the free tools still function normally. If you only need occasional resizing, PicResize's free version is enough for most situations. If you really want to try out those advanced features, some alternatives can do the same thing.
